Why I Blog

Everyone celebrates the Big Holidays. Those ones that are special to just their own family, like birthdays and anniversaries.  Or the ones that are celebrated by so many, such as Christmas or Thanksgiving.  That’s when everyone hauls out the cameras and creates memories.

But I think every day is a one to be cherished.  There is usually something that brings out a strong emotion in me in the course of the day.  If I didn’t write it down, if I didn’t blog it…that “little slice of life” if you will, would easily be forgotten.

I choose to blog them, and am honored that you are interested enough in the goings on of our little family to read them.

Susan

I agree with you about the specialness of “everyday.” Nice blog.

You are so right about those special moments. I’m blogging for a couple of reasons. First, I too want to capture moments and thoughts that would otherwise be forgotten. Second, I wanted to be a writer when I was young. That opportunity is opening up for me with an on-line journal; and, I want to do as good writers do and write something every day. Third, I didn’t plan it; but, but I find that my faith in God is being expressed as I write because He is so much a part of my life. That’s a good thing!

May God bless you, your family, and your blogging!

Thanks for de-lurking! I was really pleased to get your comment, so I popped over and had a look. I think that you and I have said similar things to each other in this post, and on my 100 post thing, but you’ve said it far more succinctly.

    Great blog.

I saw the post on view from the front door on wordpress news and your blog title intrigued me. I blog for exactly the same reason you do and was surprised to see that our blog handles are similar too. I have not had a chance to sift through your archives yet but I have enjoyed what I read so far.

So, here I am saying “Hello!”

i jumped in about six weeks ago blogging as i became the caregiver for my octogenarian parents…and since that time my dad has passed away and strangely enough my blog has become a way for the grandkids (and others) to get to know their grandparents (and aunt) better. while he was in hospice, it was even a means for the nurses that were caring for him to get to know the great guy that they cared for during the last two weeks on this earth. you never know…
